RoleRunner ("RoleRunner", "we", "us", or "our") provides software tools that help users tailor resumes, generate application materials, manage job-search workflows, publish portfolios, and access career-growth features.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website, applications, and related services.

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as account details, profile information, resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, portfolio content, application-tracking data, messages, and other materials you choose to upload or create in the service.

We may also collect billing and subscription information in connection with paid plans, although payment card information is processed by our payment provider rather than stored directly by us.

We collect technical and usage information, such as device, browser, approximate location, pages viewed, interactions, and other diagnostic or analytics information needed to operate and improve the service.

We use personal information to provide and maintain the service, authenticate users, process subscriptions, generate AI-assisted outputs, support portfolio publishing, personalize product features, secure the platform, troubleshoot issues, analyze product usage, and communicate with you about your account or service updates.

We may also use personal information to operate optional candidate visibility, recruiter discovery, or opportunity-matching features where users are given a meaningful choice during onboarding or in their account settings.

We may also use information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, and improve the accuracy, reliability, and usefulness of our product.

RoleRunner allows eligible paid users, including Pro and Premium subscribers, to publish public portfolio pages. Content you choose to publish publicly may be visible to recruiters, hiring teams, and other visitors on the internet.

If a portfolio includes a contact mechanism, visitors may submit information through that form. Please only publish information you are comfortable making available publicly.

RoleRunner may offer optional features that allow users to be discovered by recruiters, employers, hiring partners, or other relevant opportunity sources. These features are intended to help users surface relevant career opportunities.

If offered, participation in these features is presented as a user-controlled setting during onboarding or within account settings. Users may disable participation before completing onboarding, and may also change that preference later through account settings.

When enabled, RoleRunner may share selected profile, resume, portfolio, or career-related information necessary to support those visibility or matching features. We do not intend for all user information to be automatically shared in every case.

We use trusted service providers to help operate RoleRunner. Based on our current setup, those providers may include authentication, database and storage, hosting and infrastructure, AI model providers, analytics providers, and payment processors.

These service providers may process personal information on our behalf subject to their own terms and applicable law.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, measure product performance, understand feature usage, and improve the service.

We may use analytics tools to understand how people interact with RoleRunner. We do not name every analytics vendor in this policy unless legally required, but we may update this policy over time if our practices change materially.

Paid subscriptions and related payment processing are handled through Stripe. We may receive limited billing-related information such as subscription status, invoices, payment metadata, and customer identifiers necessary to manage your plan and account access.

We do not intend to store full payment card details on our own systems.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Users can manage deletion of their account and associated information through account settings. Some data may be retained for backup, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or billing recordkeeping for a limited period as required or permitted by law.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

RoleRunner is based in Canada and intends to handle personal information in a manner consistent with applicable Canadian privacy requirements, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where applicable.

Depending on where users are located and how our services are used, other privacy laws may also apply.

RoleRunner is a general career-growth platform and is not specifically directed to children. Users are expected to comply with applicable legal age requirements in their jurisdiction when using the service.

If we learn that personal information has been collected in violation of applicable law, we may take steps to remove or restrict that information.

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, update, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Many account-level updates can be made directly within your settings.

Where required by law, we will also honor applicable rights related to consent, withdrawal of consent, and requests concerning how personal information is processed. This includes user controls related to optional recruiter discovery or visibility features, where available.

RoleRunner has not yet published a dedicated support email or mailing address. Until that information is finalized, users should rely on available in-product account settings and future support channels once announced.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
